Since 1988 GVCSS has offered specialized care and supervision for individuals with profound physical and developmental disabilities through the operation of six group homes in the Lower Mainland. The Community Living Program is funded by Community Living British Columbia (CLBC). Many of the residents came to GVCSS group homes from the Woodlands residential facility upon its closure. As residential vacancies have opened up over the years, new residents in our homes have included individuals coming either from group homes that can only care for children until they reach 19 years of age, or directly from family homes, when families can no longer provide the care they need. The GVCSS Community Living Program is proud to have been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) since 2006.
