Community Living Workers

The Community Living Worker is a part of a team that ensures each resident living within the group home has the opportunity and support for independence, learning and self-expression according to their individual abilities and preferences. The employees help to create and maintain a comfortable home environment, and provide assistance with activities of daily living and active participation of the client in the community.

Community Living Educational and Job Qualification Requirements

• Post-secondary certificate in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Current St. John’s "Emergency First Aid - Community Care" First aid and Cardio-pulmonary certification
• Valid Class 4 BC Driver's Licence (restricted or unrestricted)

Community Living Job Skills and Abilities

• Competency in written and verbal communication
• Ability in conflict resolution and personnel interaction
• Ability to work independently but within a team environment
• Ability to work under pressure while still maintaining time restrictions
