Greater Vancouver Community Services Society (GVCSS) is a non-profit agency represented in several different municipalities – Vancouver, Richmond and North Vancouver and currently offers two types of services: Home Support Services, and Community Living Services.
History
Greater Vancouver Community Services Society was established in December 1986 through the amalgamation of two Societies: Kitsilano Inter-Neighbourhood Development Society (K.I.N.D.) and the Outreach Home Support Society. These founding groups offered social and health services in Vancouver.
The Greater Vancouver Community Services Society is a non-profit agency. The goals of the Society are to offer and operate a comprehensive program of assistance to the elderly, the physically and developmentally disabled and other socially disadvantaged people in the community, and to promote community involvement and cooperation.
Announcement Regarding HandyDART Service
This is a special bulletin to advise that effective January 1, 2009 Greater Vancouver Community Services Society is no longer operating the HandyDART Service.
Information regarding the HandyDART service is now available through the TransLink Access Transit office at telephone number 604-453-4634 or on their web site http://www.translink.bc.ca/Transportation_Services/Accessibility/handydart.asp
GVCSS wishes to say thank you to the many individuals who used our HandyDART service throughout the years, and to the community organizations that provided support to our Society and clients.
