Welcome Message

Welcome to the Crosstown Accessible Transit page on the Greater Vancouver Community Services Society website.

Since 1972, the GVCSS has provided a comprehensive program of home support and community living services, including HandyDART service, to the elderly, the physically and developmentally disabled, and other socially disadvantaged people in the community. Today, our dedicated staff delivers more than 300,000 passenger trips in the Lower Mainland each year.

In January 2009, HandyDART service North of the Fraser River will be delivered by one contractor instead of three. As part of our commitment to our employees and the customers we serve, we’re creating a new company called Crosstown Accessible Transit Ltd. for the purpose of bidding on and operating future HandyDART contracts.

We look forward to officially launching Crosstown Accessible Transit in the weeks ahead. We also look forward to launching the new company’s website to provide our customers and our employees with the latest company and transit information along with opportunities to express feedback and ask questions. In the meantime, we will update this page as information becomes available.

We hope this webpage will answer any questions you may have about this exciting transition and invite you to ask us questions through the link listed below.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely
Ron McLeod
Executive Director, GVCSS
