A Lifeline to the Outside World
GVCSS operates six Community Living homes for adults with multiple physical and developmental disabilities, delivering personal care, activity programs and supervision on a 24/7 basis.
In addition to providing the individuals we serve with a caring and safe home environment, GVCSS is committed to supporting their independence and enriching their quality of life.
Part of that commitment is ensuring the individuals are able to access social and recreational activities, visit with family, and attend appointments and other activities that promote their health and well-being.
Our vans ensure safe transportation
The individuals use wheelchairs and other mobility aids so they require accessible transportation to get around. We are fortunate to have obtained specially-modified vehicles for our homes many years ago. These vans are key for transporting the individuals safely.
After many years of daily use, the vans have begun to succumb to wear and tear. The cost to replace them falls outside of our government funding so we have turned to our supporters to help us raise the needed funds. Since 2011, we have successfully purchased five new vans thanks to our donors. We are now seeking to donations for our Doman Street home.
Would you like to help us secure accessible transportation for people with disabilities?
