Mission and Vision

Our Mission

At GVCSS, it is our Mission to support independence through client-focused  community care services.

Our Vision

GVCSS will build on our tradition of delivering high quality, professional care, and continue to be a leader and preferred provider of community services.

Living Our Values

We take pride in being professional, caring, respectful, responsive, collaborative, accountable, and ethical. Here is how we live these values every day:

GVCSS is professional, hiring experienced, educated and certified employees, and offering them further training and development opportunities, enabling our organization to provide excellent care and services, to exceed performance standards and to achieve accreditation.

We show caring by responding to the physical and emotional needs of our clients; supporting our fellow employees; giving back to our community; and respecting the environment.

We show that GVCSS is respectful by listening and responding to our clients, their families, and our colleagues. We treat others as we would wish to be treated, valuing the cultural diversity and life experiences of our employees, clients, Board and community.

We demonstrate that GVCSS is responsive by tailoring services to individual needs; acting upon employees’ suggestions and concerns; providing a 24/7 telephone response line and care; moving quickly to resolve any issues that arise; calmly and effectively managing through emergency situations; and seeking opportunities to match philanthropic possibilities with client and program needs.

We show that GVCSS is collaborative by participatory decision-making, and by building and maintaining effective partnerships among our programs and locations, and with families, other community agencies, funders, regulatory bodies and unions.

GVCSS is accountable: we stand by our commitments and meet our responsibilities. We deliver care and services in compliance with guidelines, standards and applicable legislation, and we work quickly, efficiently and effectively to resolve any service concerns. We carry out our Board’s and organization’s mandate by ensuring that GVCSS meets the highest standards of quality, service, fiscal responsibility and good stewardship.

As an ethical organization, GVCSS employs fair hiring practices; provides equal opportunities to all of our skilled and valued employees; strives to meet individual client needs; manages resources prudently, and reports openly and honestly on our activities; demonstrates a strong sense of social responsibility, giving back to our community and respecting the environment; complies with professional standards and stakeholders’ expectations; and uses donations in keeping with our donors’ wishes.
